Applies to

FIP-4X0B series

Introduction

Here is a short procedure on how to force a firmware update on the USB connected FIP-410B, FIP-420B and FIP-430B probes.

This could be useful in the following situations;

  • If the fiber inspection probe is unable to be detected either by the CMAX2 PC application or the CMAX2 Embedded application running on a MAX Optical tester or FTB Platform
  • If you experience a "Critical Internal Error" message while using the probe,
  • When the probe no longer connects over the USB wired connection to the CMAX2 application.

Procedure to follow

  1. You can use the already installed ConnectorMax 2 appilication on a computer, or the embedded ConnectorMax 2 application which is installed on the MAX Optical testers and FTB platforms.
  2. Before continuing, please make sure that the Probe is disconnected from the Computer or tester and ConnectorMax2 application is  running.
  3. Press and hold down the Capture and Magnification control buttons
  4.  Connect the probe to the PC using the USB cable.

  1. You should see the following message appear on screen.
