General Information

Often you may receive a compressed file package or an archive file containing multiple compressed files. These are often referred to as ZIP files.

There are 2 common tools that allow to extract these files so they can be accessed for SW installation or other file manipulations.

The 2 procedures below show how to extract (Un Zip) files using WINZIP and 7ZIP.

WINZIP

1. Double click the compressed (zipped) file or folder

2. Click “Browse” and select the location to save the unzipped file or folder

3. Click “Unzip”

4. The files will be extracted to the folder you have selected/created.

7 ZIP

1. Double click the compressed (zipped) file or folder

2. You can drag and drop the unzipped file or folder outside of the 7-Zip window

3. You can also click “Extract” and then select the location of your choice

4. The files will be extracted to the folder that you have selected/created.
