Troubleshooting an FTB Platform which is reporting "Detecting modules" in ToolBox Manager

FTB-1V2/PRO, FTB-2/PRO & FTB-4-PRO

Introduction

The FTB platform is stuck detecting modules in ToolBox procedures

Procedure to follow

Procedure 1

  1. Shut down the platform
  2. Remove the module, charger and battery
  3. After 10 seconds, insert the battery and connect the charger if needed
  4. With the module still ejected, power on the platform
  5. Launch Toolbox if its not done automatically. No module detected should be displayed
  6. Shut down the platform again
  7. Insert the module
  8. Power on the platform and validate if the module is recognized and application can be launched 

Procedure 2

  1. Reboot the unit.
  2. If you have another unit available, swap the complete backplane by unscrewing the 4 screws at the back. Identify if the problem follows the front or the back of the unit.
  3. (a) If the problem follows the back, it will need to come in for repair.  (b) If the problem stays with the front of the unit, try doing a reset/recovery.
  4. If problem is still present after a reset, unit will need to come in for repair.

Note - Removing the battery and power supply can resolve the issue.
