IOLM application for FTB-1v2-PRO, MAX-7xx series
Question
- Is it possible to remove or disable the first connector check in the IOLM application?
- Can I define the pass/fail criteria for the first connector check?
Answer
There is no option to disable or remove the first connector check in iOLM. This assessment is an essential part of the iOLM analysis process, as the quality of the first connector has a significant impact on the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results. For this reason, the first connector check is always performed and has been included in all iOLM versions.
The pass/fail criteria for the first connector check are predefined within iOLM and cannot be modified by the user. The first connector will be reported as a Fail (displayed in red) if either of the following thresholds is exceeded:
- Loss: > 1.25 dB
- Reflectance: > -45 dB
These fixed thresholds are built into the iOLM analysis algorithm to help ensure accurate and reliable link characterization.
