Applies to

Question

What does a functional test service entail exactly?

Answer

A functional test service is a service provided in our facilities where our technician will look for detectable defects on the unit (when applicable) such as:

If the unit powers up
If the touch screen, buttons, electrical ports (USB, charge, RJ45) work as expected
If typical accessories (FIP) are detected
If the platform detects its modules (only for FTB units)

This service typically requires 10 business days to be performed, which does not include shipping time. For a priority functional test service, it would be 5 business days.

When a functional test service was requested in a RMA, if an issue is found, your RMA CSR will contact you to seek approval for a repair service to fix that issue. If you refuse, we'll only charge you a functional test service, if you accept, we'll only charge you for the repair service.

If a priority functional test service was requested in a RMA and you need a repair done on the unit, the repair will not be performed as a priority since we don't offer priority repair services.
