Question
Is the FTB-1V2 backplane covered by the FTB-1V2 's warranty, or the measurement module's warranty?
NOTE: The backplane is where the modules are inserted and/or housed.
Answer
It depends on the age of your unit and whether you have the current configuration or the original configuration.
Current Configuration
For all newer FTB-1V2 and FTB-1V2 Pro platforms, the backplane is considered part of the platform. Therefore, the platform warranty period determines the warranty period of the backplane as well.
This newer configuration roughly corresponds to platforms with serial numbers higher than 1186049.
Original Configuration
However, in the case of the older kits, with non-removable modules ( i.e. no locking thumb screws on the module), the backplane and the modules are one unit and one serial number. For these units the warranty period of the backplane is determined by the warranty period of the module.
This original configuration roughly corresponds to platforms with serial numbers lower than 1186049.
