How to transfer EXFO Exchange files and logs from a MAX Optical tester

Applies to

MAX-700B/C/D series, MAX-900 series, EXFO Exchange

Introduction

You may be requested by EXFO Technical Support to provide EXFO Exchange logs and the FlowAutomation folder from your MAX optical tester. These files are used to help investigate issues observed while using the Exchange application.

This article explains exactly which files are required and how to transfer them from your MAX tester to a computer for submission to EXFO.

Once both sets of files have been copied to a USB stick, you can compress (zip) them and send them to EXFO using the provided upload link or by email (depending on file size).

Note: Ensure your USB stick is using the following supported file systems: FAT, FAT32, and exFAT. The NTFS file system is not supported by the MAX Optical testers.

Procedure to follow

Files Required from the MAX Tester

Please collect both of the following items:

1. FlowAutomation folder

Location: /DATA/Metrino/FlowAutomation

Requirement: Copy the entire FlowAutomation folder

Note: /DATA/Metrino is a hidden folder. To make it visible, open File Manager, then go to:
View > Folder Options, and uncheck any options that hide system or hidden files.
